iMacsoft iPad Video Converter is a multi-format video converter. It allows you to convert your video files to formats that are played by the iPad natively, but it also supports a lot of other formats that nothing have to do with the iPad. Those formats that play on the iPad are H.264, MPEG-4 and MOV. And they are supported by this converter. Other supported formats are: ASF, AVI, MKV, MP4, TS, MPG, MP4, RM, and WMV.
Although the user interface is not the most attractive and intuitive one I have seen, it works fairly well. At the bottom of the screen you can choose the conversion profile that you want to use for your files, and at the left of the screen you can change individual settings for those profiles. You have to make sure that you click on your video before changing the format, or it might not be applied. That happened to me the first time, and I thought the app had gone crazy.
I like to thoroughly test converters, so I use MKV and AVI files. Converters often don't even let you open MKV files. This one did open and convert my MKV file with no problems. Of course, there was quality loss, but that is to be expected with a quick conversion. The AVI file converted just fine.
